Position Description: Senior Actionscript Developer

Standard Job Description:
Develop and maintain a variety of Flash applications, working in conjunction with other Flash developers, graphic artists, and subject matter experts. Lead from within, bringing the highest and most current level of technical standards and practices to the team.

Specific Job Description:
Build new, and maintain existing, Flash applications that support training and technical documentation for US Navy Submarine Sonar maintenance.  Work with subject matter experts and hardware engineers to define requirements and ensure applications mimic installed system functionality

Architect new applications. Clearly analyze and decompose problems using object-oriented terminology and notations. Apply thorough knowledge of design patterns to recommend best options for a given application. Develop efficient, clearly formatted code that runs quickly and is easy to understand and maintain. Write supporting documentation and UML diagrams. Provide expertise in migration from AS 2.0 to AS 3.0 - both for products and for developers.

The following skills are required:
  • Expertise  in AS 2.0 to AS 3.0 migration
  • Extensive experience with object-oriented design and programming
  • Experience on large-scale Flash development projects through the full development cycle
  • History of defining and developing complex Flash applications
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for gained efficiency and improved effectiveness for the team
  • Experience with multiple design patterns, not limited to MVC
  • Portfolio and/or code samples that show representative samples
  • Experience building or working within frameworks
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stay focused and meet deadlines during chaos
Additional requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • U.S. citizen holding or able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Contract Terms: 40 hours/week, onsite
